Jim Thomssen

Jim spent 35 years in the finance industry in the Pacific Northwest working with Agricultural and Commercial clients in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. During that time developed relationships with numerous people in the wine business. He was involved with Economic Development projects that helped jump-start the industry in Idaho. Volunteering with the Idaho Wine Commission for over 15 years led to writing blogs and news articles about the business of wine. He has worked at wine competitions and traveled internationally to learn more about wine and its' interconnections across the globe. The Rioja region in Spain and Tuscany have some amazing similarities to the Pacific Northwest in the US.

After retiring he slipped into his role as the Idaho Wine Ambassador, writes articles for Great Northwest Wine magazine and has sold some wine photographs to numerous wine tourism marketing groups.
