A full day in and around the town of Akureyri means exploring some of the very best things that northern Iceland has to offer.

While some of our guests chose to follow the trail of the HBO television hit series Game of Thrones by visiting places where the show was filmed, others chose to visit some of the geologic and photographic sites. They visited Lake Mývatn, photographed the boiling mud pits and solfataras at Námafjall, hiked through strange lava forms at Dimmuborgir, and topped it all off with a trip to Goðafoss which is perhaps the most beautiful waterfall in all of Iceland.

Today reminded us all exactly why Iceland is often referred to as the land of fire and ice!
