Rolling seas took us to Macquarie Island from the Auckland Islands. The day was spent enjoying presentations from Naturalist Doug Gaultieri and National Geographic Photographer Michaela Skovranova.

In the afternoon, we conducted a thorough biosecurity check of all our equipment for tomorrow’s landings at Macquarie’s king and royal penguin colonies. Afternoon tea was a delicious Fruhschoppen on the stern deck. It was a good, restful day at sea before a big day of excursions.
