With clear skies and a following sea, we woke up to a beautiful seascape. Falkland Islands astern, our bow pointed to ports south. Our voyage is in three parts, with wonderful days in the Falklands behind us, South Georgia and Antarctica lay ahead.

A suite of seabirds entertained us today. With iconic animals such as snowy albatross in view, we stood in awe of the residents of the open ocean. These birds hold the record of longest wingspan in the world, averaging over eleven feet across.

Throughout the day we took advantage of the incredible National Geographic Explorer for a day aboard. In amazing comfort, we enjoyed presentations of the birds, fish, and seals of the region. Plowing towards our next destination with excitement, we look forward to our days ahead.
