After that, our guests enjoyed Thomas Bay by the water’s edge. Brave guests sported kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for their final movement of the day. Not only was there a miraculous view of the waterfall, but this is also a place to spot intertidal mammals such as the mink.
From Sitka to Sitkoh Bay, to Glacier Bay, Endicott Arm, the Inian Islands, Petersburg, Thomas Bay, and back to Juneau again, we have explored far and wide this past week. Thank you for joining us for celebrations of life, adventure, birthdays, and anniversaries. We truly hope these moments have helped you reconnect and recharge. Until next time aboard National Geographic Venture.
It’s our final day exploring Southeast Alaska aboard National Geographic Venture. We awoke to the creeping morning light and the sounds of Cascade Creek off the bow. One quick Zodiac ride and we were within the lush understory of the Tongass National Forest once more. The trail hugs the edge of the roaring Cascade Falls as light peeks in over the mountainside, illuminating the quintessential Alaskan old growth forest below. As we rose above the falls, we stopped to admire the power of the water from a well-maintained bridge.
