Today’s adventure on National Geographic Venture took us to the stunning Anacapa Island where we hiked to the historic lighthouse, soaking in breathtaking views of the rugged coastline. The morning was a highlight, filled with exhilarating Zodiac rides that brought us up close to lively sea lions basking in the sun. We were also treated to the sight of graceful pelicans, soaring gulls, and curious cormorants diving for fish.
In the afternoon, we cruised over to Santa Cruz Island, known for its unique wildlife. Eager to explore, we set off on hikes through diverse landscapes in search of the elusive island fox and the vibrant island scrub jay, both endemic species that make this area so special. Each step revealed the island's natural beauty and rich biodiversity, leaving us in awe of these remarkable ecosystems.
Our day was a perfect blend of adventure and discovery, showcasing the incredible natural treasures of Channel Islands National Park. As the sun set, we returned to National Geographic Venture with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for this unique marine sanctuary.
