This morning we woke to quite a surprise. No, it wasn’t the warm weather and clear skies. It was that we were taking a short detour to not only cross the Arctic Circle but to do it at the International Date Line. How cool is that? Then, after spotting a few whales, we got back on course and visited Little Diomede Island. This tiny island is swarming with seabirds, home to a small but lovely community, and incredibly close to Russia!
