Today we visited Isabela Island, the largest island on the archipelago. This morning we landed at Urbina Bay, where we enjoyed walking among Galapagos giant tortoises from Alcedo volcano, and male land iguanas in a 6km upwelling terrain that occurred in 1954. After a warm walk, we had the chance to cool down with some swimming from the beach.
Before lunch, the young global explorers went out for Zodiac driving lessons, while we enjoyed a lecture by scientist from Duke University. Throughout the rest of the day, we had multiple activity options such as kayaking, paddle-boarding, snorkeling, and Zodiac riding. Our guests had a fantastic time exploring the underwater world, from below and above the waves. Later we went hiking up to Tagus Cove to enjoy the incredible view of Darwin Lake.
After an amazing day, we navigated south to observe the volcanic activity of Sierra Negra volcano. Another wonderful day full of activities and surrounded by pristine nature onboard the National Geographic Endeavour II.
