After an overnight sail into Holcomb Bay, we arrived for breakfast in Dawes Cove. Under blue skies we set off to explore the cove by kayak while the National Geographic Global Explorers enjoyed a Zodiac driver’s education opportunity offered by boatswain Corey. Many of the intrepid explorers and parents capped off the morning with a polar plunge in the icy waters of the fjord.

Following lunch, we continued east into Endicott Arm and approached Dawes Glacier. We were captivated by glacial calving that produced enormous icebergs and huge quantities of brash ice.
