Bits of blue in the skies were welcome as we made our way through Puerto Natales in search of some new hiking opportunities. Part of our group visited the gorgeous blue Glacier Grey aboard a catamaran, while others enjoyed a more leisurely day at the Mylodon Cave.
In Torres del Paine National Park, Glacier Grey slowly plows its way down out of the Andes and into Grey Lake. Large seracs from this glacier towered above the catamaran while everyone enjoyed the intense blues, thanks in part to a backdrop of partial cloud cover. Glassy blue icebergs drifted away from the face, much to the awe of all.
This afternoon saw all of us converging together at the famous Cave of the Mylodon. Remains of an ancient giant four-meter sloth were once found in this cave. These remains may be as old as 14,000 years — just one more clue to the ancient life of Patagonia.
