The early morning hours were accompanied by a dense layer of fog. It was quite a sight to see, as different landmasses slowly revealed themselves through the fog. The National Geographic Sea Bird anchored at the Hobbit Hole, where we departed for one of our all-time favorite Zodiac cruises – a trip to the Inian Islands. Strong currents stir up the ocean floor and bring an abundance of marine life out for viewing. In honor of Independence Day, we devoured hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork, watermelon, coleslaw and of course, lots of ice cream!

After lunch kayakers circumnavigated Shaw Island while photo and naturalist hikes explored the forest surrounding Fox Creek.
