This morning we all woke up to beautiful sunshine – a welcome relief from the rain we have been seeing the past few days. Our morning activities included kayaking and hiking, and after a hearty breakfast we were shuttled to shore where we started the day off in Lake Eva. Hikers quickly spotted a bear on the trail, and at one point a young juvenile bear decided to take a nap on the walking bridge. While this was certainly a cute photo opportunity, it put our hikes to a halt and we wandered around the area looking for other hiking opportunities. Kayakers, on the other hand, were rewarded with excellent views of the bear from the water’s edge.

The afternoon was spent sailing towards our final destination, Sitka. Our staff members were on deck searching the horizon for wildlife, and several whales were spotted as we made our way towards Peril Straight. In the evening, we celebrated a successful conclusion of our expedition with the guest slideshow and a farewell dinner.
