After a calm night alongside at Lerwick, we spent today exploring our new surroundings. In the morning, some of our guests ventured into town with photo instructors Diane, Len, and Ryder, to learn how to capture the wild beauty of the Shetland Isles. Meanwhile the rest of the group hiked along the rugged coastline on which Lerwick sits and were treated to dramatic displays of diving gannets and soaring fulmars.

In the afternoon there were three exciting options to choose from. Some undertook the hike to Sumburgh Head while others delved into the history of Shetland at Jarlshof, a site which boasts 4,000 years of continuous human settlement. Our final group toured the Shetland Museum, learning about the unique culture and traditions of these islands.

In the evening, all on board enjoyed an exclusive concert by world-renowned Scottish folk-singer, Julie Fowlis.
