Today we started early in the morning exploring Pahuachiro stream. In this black water stream, a lot of birds can be observed while we cruised on board the skiffs. For our delight, the weather was cool enough to allow us to have great sightings of them.

After breakfast, we had the opportunity to do another hike in Tierra Firme. The trail chosen was Casual. Here, local guides from the community shared their knowledge in tracking all sort of animals. Anacondas, boas, dart frogs, tarantulas and many other animals were pointed out by them while our naturalist gave us the natural history of each of them. It was a little example of the great biodiversity that is found here in the Upper Amazon.

Our afternoon was enjoyed by exploring Clavero Lake. One of the great sightings was the smallest primate of the Upper Amazon, the pygmy marmoset. Close to sunset, several parrots and parakeets covered the sky as they return to their evening perch. The sound of the forest was a delight to our ears.

A great finally for another in the Upper Amazon as we explore the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
