Last night we departed from our exciting gray whale adventure in Magdalena Bay and headed due south to catch sunrise on the famous Los Arcos or Land’s End at the terminus of the Baja Peninsula near Cabo San Lucas. The weather took a turn for the good and cast beautiful light on the famous arch as we made our way to the new port of San Jose del Cabo where we spent our morning perusing this old mission town and observing some of the many bird species in the local estuary.
Back onboard the National Geographic Sea Lion, we headed east around the cape and were treated to a great show of breaching humpback whales. The wind and waves picked up a bit as we headed north up the Gulf of California heading towards our next adventure.
