We were back to civilization today and I was very happy to see my home town, Puerto Ayora. The largest town in the Galapagos Archipelago shows our guests that it is possible to coexist, human beings and pristine nature, both together, thanks to the great effort of conservation. We enjoyed visiting the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center, the most successful program ran by the Galapagos National Park Service. A visit to a local farm, “El Trapiche”, was included, and we made a top by a lava tunnel, which is always a great opportunity to learn about the geology of the island. After a great lunch outside of the ship, we had the wonderful opportunity to walk among the emblematic Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural habitat. A great day for unforgettable moments and encounters! If we can save this place, we can save the world!
