As National Geographic Quest sailed towards Sitkoh Bay, we had a beautiful morning passing through Sergius Narrows. Our early risers enjoyed this view around 4:30 am, and we did not have to wait long for humpback whales as we entered Morris Reef. A group of humpbacks worked together to bubble-net feed, and we cheered as a few breached.

We spent the afternoon hiking and kayaking in the bay, soaking in the wonderful Alaskan weather. During our hike, we got our first look at the beautiful temperate rainforest. We enjoyed the chance to stretch our legs in the green, and to take in the peaceful sounds of the water on the blue. Upon returning to the ship, we were excited to see a sow with two cubs on the shore.
