National Geographic Orion awoke to an unusually blue sky for such a high latitude in the Arctic. Places such as this are known for their gray skies and frequent visits of fog. Exploring the western edge of Spitsbergen, we cruised in search of the white bear, as petrels continued to surround the ship. In the afternoon, we set off in our Zodiacs amongst high mountain glaciers and came upon a group of walrus upon the shore.
