National Geographic Quest pulled into anchorage early in the morning so that we could get out in our Zodiacs to visit the Inian Islands. This day of the trip is always a staff favorite, as ‘anything can happen in the Inian Islands,’ and today it did!
Each group joined a naturalist for an exploration by Zodiac to see as much wildlife as possible in a short amount of time. Everyone took pictures and videos while observing the sea otters, sea lions, and a variety of birds. In the first round, we found two humpback whales using the waves of the flooding tide to eat. Luckily, we found the whales again for our second round of cruisers.
After lunch, a variety of hikes, kayaking, and paddleboarding were offered.
