For our third full day aboard National Geographic Sea Lion, we cruised to Wrangell to explore a small Alaskan town and venture out onto the Stikine River. After docking National Geographic Sea Lion, guests were shuttled to a pier to transfer over to jet boats. Jetting up the Stikine River, we saw harbor seals and eagles, and we ended at a glacier surrounded by low-lying icebergs. After returning to the ship for a hearty lunch, guests were shuttled back to the pier for a chance to explore Wrangell. Guests had the opportunity to experience various sites, including Chief Shakes’ house, Petroglyph Beach, and Mount Dewey. The evening ended with a bright full moon that looked as if it were rising and falling behind the dark mountain-scape as we cruised to our next destination.
