This morning, we explored Yanayacu Pucate River and the surrounding forest for a little bit of birding and our first forest exploration.
In the afternoon, we explored Yarapa River in search of monkeys, birds, and giant lilies. This area is home to many icons of the jungle, such as the green iguana, wattled jacanas, and yellow-rumped caciques. The region has a swamp that is home to many bird species, such as black hawks, fly catchers, horned screamers, and many others. But certainly, the stars of the show were the woolly monkeys!
