One piece of advice our photography experts swear by: your landscape photos will be far more striking if you add a focal point, whether by framing the shot with objects in the foreground (e.g., the deck of National Geographic Resolution in front of an iceberg in Antarctica), drawing the viewer's eye to a natural feature that disrupts the horizon (e.g., the solitary figure of Cerro Dragon sticking out of Santa Cruz Island in the Galápagos), or including a person or animal for perspective (e.g., a guest posing between geologic formations on Santiago Island, also in the Galápagos).
