Fly the Drake Passage: A New Way to Discover Antarctica

“Antarctica is so powerful as a destination,” says Founder and CEO Sven Lindblad. “I have seen a lot of travelers over the years transformed by their travel experience there. Now, we are broadening the opportunities for a wider segment of society to have that same life-changing experience.”

Beginning in 2024, National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions expanded our portfolio of Antarctica expeditions with two new, shorter itineraries aboard National Geographic Explorer: Antarctica Direct: Fly the Drake Passage 8-Dayand Antarctica Direct: Sail and Fly the Drake Passage.

Due to the incredible response, we are delighted to announce that beginning in 2025, we are also adding two more new itineraries aboard National GeographicOrion: a 9-day and a 10-day departure that sails the passage in both directions.

In this video, Lindblad introduces these new options as he discusses the evolution of our 55+ year heritage exploring the otherworldly wonders of the White Continent.
