Lewiston History & Wine Post-Voyage Extension
Day 1 - Disembark Ship / Lewiston Wine and History Tour
Enjoy breakfast on board before disembarking the ship. Transfer to the Hells Canyon Grand Hotel before embarking on a historical tour of downtown Lewiston to learn about its founding. Visit the Nez Perce National Historic Park to explore the traditional home of the Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) people and see how they continued their ways of life during the European settlement of the United States. Continue to the Nez Perce County Historical Society and Museum to learn more about the area’s history, including the Lewis and Clark Expedition of Discovery, the Camas Prairie Railroad, and river navigation.
Enjoy lunch at a kitschy eatery before visiting a local tasting room. Taste some of the region’s award-winning wines as you sample an eclectic variety of reds and whites. Continue to Clearwater Canyon Cellars, named “2020 Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year” by Wine Press Northwest, a vital part of the wine culture of the region. Their wine maker, Dr. Coco Umiker, Ph.D., is known throughout the industry. Housed on Umiker Estates—owned by the Umiker/Nichols family who have farmed these lands for the last 100 years—the wines at this vineyard will not disappoint.
