Day 2 - London
Step back in time at the historic Tower of London, where we’ll see the famous Yeoman Warders—nicknamed the Beefeaters—who have protected the tower since the Tudor era. Gaze at the Crown Jewels, including the dazzling Cullinan Diamond, the largest diamond ever unearthed. After lunch at a local pub, head to Westminster Abbey to see treasures like the coronation chair, royal chapels with shrines that date back to Saxon times, and the Pyx chambers, where columns of the original 11th-century building still stand. Later, return to your hotel for an evening at leisure. Dinner is on your own tonight. (B,L)

Today, venture outside the city to the magnificent Windsor Castle, the largest working and occupied castle in the world. Explore the State Apartments, furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, including fine tapestries, sculpture, armor, and paintings by Rembrandt and Rubens. We’ll also see St. George’s Chapel, the final resting place of ten sovereigns, including Henry VIII, Charles I, and Elizabeth II. This evening, a royal treat: the home of the Household Cavalry is closing its doors to the public for your private, behind-the-scenes tour of its fascinating Regimental Museum and the stables of the Royal Guard, followed by a tasting of the regiment’s house-made gin. Cap off your evening with a traditional English dinner at a nearby restaurant. (B,D)
