Our first landing of the trip, Camp Millar, showed us the myriad of life that the summer has to offer here. Arctic foxes, nesting dovekies, gulls and kittiwakes, reindeer and skuas, all striving to feed and breed as much as possible before the cold, dark months of winter arrive. Hiking along the slopes as the fog lifted the sense that we have truly arrived in a strange new land starts to permeate our very consciousness.
