This incredible spot we visited in the morning is always a hit — the flora and fauna found there is amazing. The highlight of the afternoon was exploring El Dorado River at night: we spotted nocturnal fauna such as caimans and owls, and listened to the impressive symphony of the jungle at dusk.

Pacaya and Magdalena River
We enjoyed very interesting wildlife sightings while exploring the Peruvian Amazon today. We had a decent view of a razor-billed curassow, an elusive bird. Late afternoon was bathed in a magical light, the kind that photographers and nature lovers dream about. In this magical light, we had great views of saddle-back tamarins, aracaris, plum-throated cotingas, and blue-and-yellow macaws.

Yanallpa and the Dorado River
Today we sailed further upriver along the Ucayali River and explored the region of Yanallpa, more specifically a small tributary called Belluda Creek. We discovered not one or two but four different monkey species before breakfast! Later, we explored the Dorado River in the afternoon. We searched for caimans and other nocturnal creatures using spotlights and returned after sunset.
