We could not have asked for a more spectacular day to explore the phenomenal glacier valley at Hellemobotn. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and spring had officially sprung in the greenery and bird life surrounding us!!!  This incredible landscape is a hiker’s paradise, with a choice of challenging, moderate, or meandering walks exploring waterfalls, cascading rivers, forest ecosystems, and a small Sami summer settlement. Travellers were all smiles as we got back on board National Geographic Resolution for a delicious lunch.

This afternoon we went exploring by ship amongst Norway’s beautiful fjord systems, including a spectacular view of Stetinden, Norway’s National Mountain. We were so lucky to have such clear blue skies, as this impressive mountain top, dubbed God’s Anvil, is often obscured by clouds.  What a treat!

This evening, we are taking full advantage of the lingering sunlight and exploring Trollfjord, one of Norway’s most dramatic fjords. Only about 100m wide, it is always a delight to navigate our capable vessel in this narrow passageway of sheer rock cliffs and bountiful waterfalls. Heads will hit their pillows happy tonight!
