Challenging winds and waves did not stop us from visiting Karukinka, one of the highlights in Patagonia. Natural Park offers beautiful hiking, waterfalls, and stunning views of elephant seals resting on the beach. These magnificent seals may not be the prettiest ones, but they’re so fascinating! The ride to and from the landing offered an exciting and splashy experience for our guests, while albatrosses soared around us in the wind.

The afternoon was spent at Ainsworth Bay where we enjoyed a walk through the dense forest with a great display of local flora and views over the beaver ponds where the invasive beavers have created massive dams. Our guests had an opportunity to taste the wild-growing Calafate berries that are just getting sweet, a reminder of that tasty drink we had at our first lunch in Torres del Paine.

Meanwhile, the dive team went exploring along the coast and found a great spot with lots of life, everything from the smallest squat lobsters to giant king crabs and an amazing encounter with a little octopus!
