Today was a day with two very different stories. The morning was wet and wild, forest and kayaking, exploring and bushwacking, all in Mud Bay. We experienced flowers, deer, kelp, eagles, and beachcombing. We enjoyed the rainforest, with its Sitka spruce and western hemlock. We delighted in eating berries and splashing in the mud.
In the afternoon, the sun made a grand appearance, and it was all about the wildlife. We went for Zodiac cruises with otters, sea lions, and whales, oh yeah! Eagles, pigeon guillemots, phalaropes, and gulls swarmed. The open ocean water surged into the inside passage creating an incredible afternoon spectacle.
