Sunrise found the National Geographic Sea Bird docked in the village of Queen Charlotte on Graham Island in Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, Canada. The clear skies were a welcome reprieve from all the beautiful liquid sunshine of the rain forest of southeast Alaska!

Our day flew by in the presence of Haida artists, carvers, dancers, and perhaps the most fulfilling…Haida food! Our scrumptious lunch was from locally harvested seafood including salmon, candlefish, seaweed, limpets, clams, and mussels. As we cleared the harbor in the late afternoon, all on board left with a greater appreciation of the cultural richness to be found here in Haida Gwaii.
