The National Geographic Sea Lion spent the morning at anchor pretty much in the same place where Captain George Vancouver did in July of 1794 at Port Althorp; located on the northern portion of Chichagof Island. Port Althorp is a very pretty bay and we explored it by means of kayaking, expedition landing craft cruising and hiking. Then we traveled a short distance to visit the small fishing community of Elfin Cove to witness the real Alaskan way of life in a remote place to put an end to a wonderful day.
