On our last day, after an amazing week on board National Geographic Endeavour II, we arrived to San Cristobal island the oldest and easternmost of the Galapagos Islands. This island was the first stop for Charles Darwin on 1835 during the Beagle Voyage. Currently San Cristobal is the Capital of Galapagos Archipelago, and host of the biggest sea lion colony on the islands, among other beautiful species.
In the morning, we hiked Punta Pitt, an old stuff cone. During this trekking, we saw red footed boobies nesting on trees and bushes, with some eggs and chicks. We also spotted blue-footed boobies, and Nazca boobies, nesting flying, dancing and feeding. They were everywhere. After a beautiful hike, it was time for a swim on the green sand beach.
In the afternoon, we disembarked in Cerro Brujo a stunning white sandy beach. Surrounded by black lava full of red crabs, turquoise water with sea lions and blue sky with frigate birds. This wonderful beach was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our last swim in paradise.
