Alejandra Jaen
Alejandra was born in Panama City but grew up in a village located in the mountains, where she spent her days enjoying nature and learning from her grandmother about the traditions and customs of Panama. Ale studied a Bachelor's Degree in International Business with an emphasis in finance and, at the same time, started working in the Gamboa area, part of the former Panama Canal Zone. During this process, Ale discovered that her true passion was in ecotourism, as it would allow her to share with others her love for nature, the fascinating history of Panama, and its culture. Therefore, Ale finished her university studies, and started her career in tourism, in which she has been working for more than 10 years already and has been able to work with companies such as Rainforest Adventure, Overseas Adventure Travel, and Lindblad Expeditions among others.
Focused on her professional growth and on providing a better experience to travelers and explorers visiting her beloved country, Ale participated in a training on green areas guiding and botanical species identification with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, obtained her open water diving certification with SCUBA, participated in a training with the Holbrook Travelers company related to the management of groups of travelers, and obtained a certification in open sea survival, in addition to other trainings to learn more about the history and culture of Panama. For Ale, her goal as a guide is to offer travelers an immersive experience in history, culture, nature, customs, and traditions of the destination they are visiting, so travelers can get to know the true face of the country they are visiting.
