Anna Mazurek
Anna Mazurek is a freelance travel photographer and writer with a professional focus on documenting remote regions and global cultures. Originally from South Carolina, she developed an early interest in travel and photography while studying abroad during college.
Since then, Anna has visited more than 70 countries and lived on five continents. She is currently based between Austin, Texas and Chiang Mai, Thailand, and her work has been published in outlets including National Geographic, The Washington Post, Texas Monthly, AFAR, The Wall Street Journal and Rolling Stone.
Anna holds a master’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina. She also teaches part-time at the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Texas State University.
Her professional experience includes managing summer student photography programs in Asia and working with National Geographic Student Expeditions in Europe and the United States. Through her writing, photography and expedition work, Anna helps bring attention to lesser-traveled landscapes and the stories found in the world’s most remote places.
