Cindy Manning
Cindy was raised in a family that was fortunate enough to live in many different countries across the globe. During her formative years, she counted Latin America and Europe as home, with periods in-between living in Illinois and Indiana, where she attended Earlham College. With a B.A. in Biology, Cindy then spent the next few years finding work abroad as teacher in Kenya, and later as a naturalist in the Ecuadorian Amazon region. However, after arriving in the Galapagos Islands in 1986, this is where she settled.
Cindy joined ranks with Lindblad Expeditions in 1997 and has never looked back. Given the opportunity to make a living doing what she loves best - traveling and teaching, it has worked out well. As a member of the General Assembly of the Charles Darwin Foundation, she helps raise funds for important projects and over 30 years has maintained her Naturalist license with the Galapagos National Park. Now with decades of experience leading groups out in nature, its exploration and conservation has become her passion. Trained as a Certified Photo Instructor by Lindblad and National Geographic photographers, Cindy travels to various regions of the world teaching guests the tricks of the trade to improve their images using whatever camera they may have on hand and finish their expedition with digital memories that will last a lifetime. When on board as the Undersea Specialist, Cindy revels in introducing guests to the marine world of whatever ocean we happen to be visiting. All in all, she is ready to share her knowledge wherever she finds herself, no age limit expected.
