Our last day of the expedition around the Caribbean Coast of Panama and Colombia took us to the wetlands of Cispata Bay, once rice fields and now buried by water and surrounded by mangroves.

In the morning, we explored the mangroves, listening to the ex-crocodile hunters-turned conservationists who demonstrated how they saved the population of crocodiles and their protection of mangroves for future generations. In addition, we enjoyed the benefits of the mangroves, home to a great array of birds and wildlife.

In the afternoon, we repositioned to the sanctuary of Sanguare, which also provided a spectacular opportunity for the observation of wildlife. This ex-cattle ranch has been a testament of protection of the tropical dry forest on the Caribbean Coast of Colombia. After our excursions, we presented a very authentic cultural demonstration of the Afro-Colonial heritage with some of the most traditional rhythms of Colombia. It could not have been a better way to close an incredible expedition.
