Caitlyn Ware

Caitlyn Ware grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, before moving to Wichita, Kansas, during her teenage years. During these formative years, Caitlyn developed a deep connection to nature, finding inspiration in the beaches and wildlife of Texas and the vast plains of Kansas. Her love for adventure and an insatiable curiosity about the stories of the land and its people brought her to where she is today.

While in college, Caitlyn heard the call of adventure and visited Petersburg, Alaska. She instantly fell in love with Alaska’s beauty and the warm community found in the small fishing community of 3,000. In 2021, she moved to Petersburg, where she now lives with her husband and son. As a member of the Taakdeintaan clan, Caitlyn was culturally adopted into the Tlingit people and lives out many aspects of the traditional way of life with her family. Today, Caitlyn works as a photographer and cultural tour guide for her family’s business, where she shares her knowledge and passion for the rich environment and the culture that is woven into the land she lives she lives in. In her free time, Caitlyn enjoys hiking, fishing, harvesting, and exploring the great state she calls home. She is passionate about sharing the stories and culture of the wildlife and people around her. Caitlyn believes everything from the trees surrounding the forests we walk through to the voices of those who live among us all has a story that deserves to be told and shared.
