Domenica Guerrero

Domenica grew up on the small island of San Cristóbal in the Galápagos, surrounded by the ocean, volcanic landscapes and abundant wildlife. Living in close connection with sea lions, marine iguanas and other iconic species fostered an early curiosity about the natural world and the delicate relationships between people, wildlife and the environment. These experiences shaped her interest in understanding and protecting the ecosystems that make the islands unique.

She earned a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science in 2017 and has since dedicated her career to education, conservation and nature interpretation. During her university years, she volunteered with community education initiatives and assisted with research and field programs throughout the Galápagos. She later returned as a guest lecturer for environmental science courses, sharing field experiences and helping students connect scientific concepts with real-world conservation challenges. These opportunities strengthened her commitment to making science accessible, engaging and relevant to a wide range of audiences.

Today, Domenica combines her background in environmental science with guiding, photography and storytelling. She enjoys helping travelers develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world through careful observation and curiosity about the environments they encounter. A dedicated freediver, she spends much of her time exploring beneath the surface and documenting marine life through photography. Whether sharing stories from the Galápagos, guiding guests in the field or photographing wildlife underwater, she hopes to encourage a greater understanding of the remarkable ecosystems that have shaped both her career and her perspective on the world.
