No matter where our ships were this week, the skies provided ample photo opportunities. Our field staff captured memorable sunrises and sunsets in Costa Rica, Baja California, the Falkland Islands, and the Galápagos Islands, as well as wildlife shots and spectacular landscapes.

Coexisting in Fernandina Island. The productivity of the Galapagos ecosystem is fueled by nutrient-rich waters brought by ocean currents, supporting abundant marine life. This abundance allows Galapagos sea lions, Galapagos marine iguanas, and flightless cormorants to coexist by exploiting different niches and food sources within the ecosystem. —Salvador Cazar, Naturalist

Today turned out to be stunning, from beginning to end. It began with a gorgeous sunrise – the huge sky was lit up with resplendent reds, oranges, and yellows, giving way to blues and indigos. The seas calmed as we made our way to Saunders Island. —Eduardo Shaw, Naturalist
