No matter where the National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions fleet travels, sunlight features in many of the field staff's best photos. From a spectacular sunrise over Antarctic ice to a rare "green flash" sighting in California's Channel Islands National Park, the skies were especially beautiful this week.

Just before recap, one of our naturalists spotted a great potential for an amazing phenomenon – the green flash! Everyone came outside in anticipation and that vigilance was rewarded! We saw the sun’s rays change from yellow to orange to a small blip of green just before cresting under the horizon.
