Enhance your unforgettable river voyage through the Low Countries with a two-day extension that immerses you in the charm and history of two defining Belgium cities. On April departures, explore the grand medieval architecture of Brussels, home to the European Parliament, and discover an enriching mix of art and history. On August departures, step into the medieval heart of Ghent instead, a remarkably preserved city crowned by its legendary “Three Towers”: the Belfry of Ghent, Saint Nicholas Church and Saint Bavo’s Cathedral. On both April and August departures, you’ll wander the scenic canals of Bruges—often called the “Venice of the North”—making this enriching add-on a perfect blend of scenic beauty, cultural depth and architectural splendor.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Disembark Ship / Brussels / Bruges

Disembark the ship in Brussels this morning and head out to Bruges where you’ll experience the timeless allure of this city affectionately known as the “Venice of the North.” On an expert-guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, witness must-see landmarks, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and visit well-known spots like the vibrant Market Square and the famous Belfry of Bruges, which offers breathtaking panoramic views for those willing to climb to the top of its medieval tower. End the day with an idyllic boat ride through the city's picturesque canals before returning to Brussels to check into Radisson Collection Brussels (or similar). Dinner is on your own tonight. (L)
