Expedition Spotlight: Arctic Trailblazer Wanny Woldstad

Norwegian Wanny Woldstad ventured to the Arctic in 1932, becoming the first female fur trapper on Svalbard. An awarded markswoman, she was a trailblazer who spent six winters living in freezing conditions while hunting wildlife and selling fur alongside her two sons to support herself—an unheard of feat in the 1930s.
